Parent-Program Partnerships

One of the key elements of quality programs for children is a strong parent/program partnership.    Research has shown that the child's experience is enhanced when parents are actively involved in the child's program.   We request that you get involved.   Here are some options:

Parent Advisory Council

There is a Parent Advisory for your child's program.   We invite all parents to attend the monthly meetings.   The group discusses common program issues and concerns and may provide input to program policy.   Should you have questions about any policies or procedures, copies are available upon request.

Parent Volunteers

We encourage all parents to volunteer in some way.   You can accompany your child on a field trip, repair broken toys, read a story in your child's room, demonstrate a special skill, participate in multi-cultural events, etc.   Talk to your director about your interests.

Installation Child and Youth Evaluation Team (ICYET)

The ICYET reviews the programs for compliance with minimum standards and identifies needed program improvement.   Team members include parents, a command representative, representatives from fire, safety, health, engineers and nutrition services and CYS program representatives.
