The Fort Myer Post Library has a versatile collection of books, audio/visual materials and magazines for adults and children.  This collection supports general and professional interests, recreational reading, and academics.  In addition, there are ten public computers equipped with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, & Publisher) and Internet access.  The library staff provides real-reference services and can borrow of materials through a network of special, public, and academic libraries.  Click on one of the following links for information:

The Fort Myer Post Library is located in Building 417, 239 Sheridan Avenue , Fort MyerThe library is disabled accessible handicap parking adjacent to the building. Please call ahead if assistance is needed: (703) 696-3555.

Eligibility

Eligible Library patrons include active duty/retired military personnel, Department of Defense civilian employees, and their family members. To obtain a library card, simply present a military/civilian ID card and fill out the registration form. Library cards are issued to all sponsored family members. Patrons under 18 must have the sponsor's signature on the application.

Education/Career Services

We support all off-duty military and civilian education and academic pursuits, and act as the designated academic support library for both Troy University and Park University.

Orientation tours are available for college classes. Please call us for an appointment: (703) 696-3555.

The Library has exam preparation materials for GRE, SAT, LSAT, GMAT, ACT, GED, ASVAB, OCS, CLEP and DANTES.

We offer a variety of career publications:

  • OPM Online
  • Occupational Outlook Handbook:  Published annually by the Department of Labor, it provides job descriptions, projected demand for careers, and estimated income.
  • College volumes covering ranking, location, tuition, majors, sports, how to apply, and more.
  • Exam preparation material: U.S. citizenship, Postal Worker, and other occupational exams.
